People sin, and it makes boundaries necessary to protect us from the worst of it. Yet when we learn from God how to set boundaries, we do so with hope that one day the relationship might be healed.
It can be so easy in our relationships to point out what we think someone else should be doing. Yet, real relationship requires effort on our part. That’s why Jesus challenges us to open the door.
Our relationship struggles are part of a pattern of sin that began with the first human beings. Humanity broke up with God, and it ruined everything. Now thanks to Jesus, we have hope.
Things outside of our control can so easily influence how we experience life. That’s why Christianity places such a heavy emphasis on self-control: when we take every thought captive for Christ, we can experience joy and peace no matter our circumstances!
